Hon. Amodu Abubakar Commends Hon. Siyaka Adegbenege’s Outstanding Grassroots Mobilisation, Community Engagement in Kogi
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Grassroots Mobilisation, Hon. Amodu Abubakar, has lauded the Auditor General for Local Government, Hon. Siyaka Adegbenege, for his exceptional contributions to grassroots mobilisation and participatory governance across Kogi State.
In a statement celebrating Adegbenege’s impact, Hon. Amodu described him as a strategic link between government and the people, noting that his commitment to accountability, inclusiveness, civic engagement, and community mobilisation has significantly strengthened public confidence in governance.
According to him, Hon. Adegbenege has consistently distinguished himself through innovative grassroots initiatives that have taken government policies and programmes directly to communities, ensuring that citizens remain informed and actively involved in the development process.
He noted that the Auditor General’s ward-to-ward sensitisation campaigns have created meaningful opportunities for interaction with Local Government Chairmen, councillors, traditional rulers, opinion leaders, and other critical stakeholders. These engagements, he said, have enhanced public understanding of government policies, fiscal responsibility, and ongoing development programmes.
Hon. Amodu stated that Adegbenege’s sustained presence at the grassroots has played a significant role in promoting Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s people-oriented administration and reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparency and responsive leadership.
“Hon. Siyaka Adegbenege has demonstrated exemplary leadership by ensuring that the principles of accountability and good governance are communicated directly to the people rather than remaining confined to government institutions. His efforts have strengthened trust between public institutions and the communities they serve,” he said.
He further praised Adegbenege’s strategic stakeholder meetings and town hall engagements across various Local Government Areas, describing them as effective platforms for encouraging citizens’ participation in governance while fostering greater support for Governor Ododo’s People First agenda.
According to Hon. Amodu, the engagements have promoted dialogue between government and citizens, enabling community members to express their concerns while gaining deeper insight into government initiatives in key sectors such as security, healthcare, rural infrastructure, and socio-economic development.
