2027: Yahaya Bello’s Development Record Will Secure Kogi Central Victory – SSA Amodu Abubakar
The Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Grassroots Mobilisation, Hon. Amodu Abubakar, says the achievements of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, remain his greatest political asset ahead of the 2027 general election.
Amodu said Bello’s eight-year administration delivered far-reaching investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth empowerment and inclusive governance, leaving a legacy that continues to enjoy widespread support across Kogi State.
According to him, the former governor’s road construction and rehabilitation projects improved connectivity, boosted economic activities and opened up rural communities, while the upgrading of more than 120 primary healthcare centres and investments in specialist hospitals expanded access to quality healthcare.
He also credited Bello with strengthening the education sector through the establishment of GYB Model Science Secondary Schools, the creation of an additional state-owned university and the payment of WAEC and NECO examination fees for public secondary school students.
On youth development, Amodu said Bello empowered thousands of young people through entrepreneurship and skills acquisition programmes, while his administration’s appointments of youths and women into strategic positions reflected its commitment to inclusive governance.
He further praised the former governor’s labour-friendly policies, saying his decision to preserve jobs at the local government level during difficult economic periods demonstrated responsible and compassionate leadership.
“The people have not forgotten the roads, hospitals, schools, empowerment programmes and opportunities that transformed lives during Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s administration. His achievements continue to speak for him and remain a powerful testament to purposeful leadership,” Amodu said.
He expressed confidence that Bello’s record of performance, grassroots appeal and enduring relationship with the people would give him a significant advantage if he contests the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in 2027.
