Ododo, Okpebholo Lead APC Rally for Oyebamiji Ahead of Osun Governorship Election
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Edo State counterpart, Monday Okpebholo, on Wednesday led an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Osun State, urging Kogi indigenes and other residents to support the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), in the August 15, 2026 election.
Addressing supporters at the rally, Ododo called on eligible voters to back the APC candidate, arguing that the party had demonstrated its commitment to governance through projects and policies rather than political rhetoric.
“Governance is not by propaganda; governance is a serious business. Our campaign is issue-based. Tell us what your party has done for the people, and we will tell you what the APC has done,” the governor said.
Ododo also urged voters to reciprocate what he described as the developmental efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by voting for the APC in the Osun governorship election.
According to him, the Tinubu administration has approved key projects and interventions benefiting Kogi State, including the Kogi International Airport, a Special Agro-Processing Zone, a Free Trade Zone, rehabilitation of critical federal roads, enhanced security support and increased resources for sub-national development.
He urged voters not to be intimidated during the election.
“Don’t be intimidated. On August 15, go out, cast your vote for the APC, let your vote count, and show Mr. President our appreciation for his unwavering support to our people,” Ododo said.
Speaking to members of the Igala community in Osogbo, the North Central representative on the TETFund Board of Trustees, Dr. Ocholi Hassan Abdulrahman, called on Igala indigenes resident in Osun State to support the APC and its governorship candidate.
Abdulrahman said his appointment to the TETFund Board reflected what he described as President Tinubu’s inclusive approach to governance and urged the community to support the APC in both the forthcoming governorship election and the 2027 general elections.
He said supporting Oyebamiji and President Tinubu would represent continuity of the party’s programmes and appreciation for opportunities extended to the Igala community.
The rally was attended by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and other APC leaders, who reaffirmed the party’s commitment to securing victory in the August 15 governorship election.
The event attracted APC supporters, Kogi indigenes, market women, youth groups and members of other non-indigene communities resident in Osun State.
