PAAU Vice-Chancellor Attends 37th CVCNU Annual General Assembly in Ilorin
The Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, is participating in the 37th Annual General Assembly of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
The conference, which began on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, is being held at the University Auditorium of the University of Ilorin under the theme, “Building Resilient Universities for Nigeria.”
The annual assembly brings together vice-chancellors and other key stakeholders in the Nigerian university system to discuss challenges facing higher education institutions, policy innovation and strategies for strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of Nigerian universities.
The conference was formally declared open on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmad.

Professor Ogbo is attending the gathering alongside other university leaders and education stakeholders, providing an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, share institutional experiences and explore areas of collaboration within the university system.

Discussions at the assembly are expected to focus on approaches to building stronger and more resilient universities capable of responding effectively to emerging challenges in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
The CVCNU Annual General Assembly also serves as a platform for university administrators and other stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting the development and competitiveness of Nigerian universities.
