Kogi Labour Adviser Urges Yagba Workers to Support Tinubu, Ododo

Kogi State Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, has urged workers in Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Edoka made the call on Wednesday during a workplace security sensitisation campaign in the two local government areas, where the team engaged workers at the secretariats in Odo-Ere and Isanlu.
He said the state government was interested in workers’ welfare and urged them to support the continuity of the Tinubu and Ododo administrations to consolidate what he described as achievements recorded so far.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Kogi West, Comrade Ranti Ojo, also called for unity among workers, particularly on issues relating to job sustainability and improved welfare.
Ojo said workers needed to critically assess the performance of the present administration to enable them make informed decisions that would benefit them and their dependants.
According to him, the achievements of Governor Ododo since assuming office indicated that the administration had workers’ interests at heart and is committed to improving the welfare of all civil servants in the state.
He described the workplace security campaign as having two components: personal security and job security, urging workers to take both aspects seriously.
At Odo-Ere, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Olorunshola Helen Aduke, said workers were satisfied with the present administration and passed a vote of confidence in Governor Ododo.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) in Yagba East, Comrade Moses Oyebode, commended the government for what he described as worker-friendly policies.
Oyebode, however, appealed to the government to pay outstanding gratuities, saying this would help reduce the hardship being experienced by affected workers.
The campaign team’s visits to Yagba East and West also featured cultural performances.
