A congratulatory visit to Sen. Jibrin Echocho Representing Kogi East Senatorial District

Today, at the instance of my brothers from my community (Okenyi) in Ankpa, Kogi State led by Mr. Felix Akachi, Victor Omali, Hassan and Desmond Musa that recently indicated interest for the position of Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Secretariate, paid Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho a courtesy visit in his Abuja residence to congratulate him over his recent appointment as Chairman, Senate Committee on Customs and Excise Duties.

In the same vein, they also delivered an Appreciation letter to the distinguished senator for finding Okenyi, worthy to have participated in his gesture to providing solar street lights to some part of the community.

Reacting, the senator also promised to provide more dividend of democracy for the people and consolidate on better life for the people. In his words “I am above 60 years of age I don’t think I have plenty of luxury time on earth other than impacting on the life of our people when necessary.

“I was sent to represent them at the National Assembly (Senate) and it is my duty to give back to the people what belongs to them”. He also pledge to do more as he has been given a higher responsibility that will bring development and create more jobs in other to reduce social vices in Kogi East and the State in general.

On his part, Mr. Victor expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of the National Chairman of Okenyi Development Association (ODA) the highest body of social cultural group in the community, while Hassan who is a chieftain of the APC pledged his support to the distinguished senator and his party and also pleaded that the gesture should be replicated in other parts of Okenyi like construction of clinic, construction roads building of blocks of classroom and the rehabilitation of the community secondary school.

The Senator in his closing remarks, said that his desire is to touch lives that will bring about positive change to the people. I have taken notes of these requests and will ensure that I give back to the people of Okenyi what belongs to them.
