Ajaokuta Lawmaker Jibril Abu Secures, Furnishes Office for Command of Kogi State Vigilante Services

The lawmaker representing Ajaokuta State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Honorable Jibril Abu (WisdomBank), has provided a fully equipped office for the Kogi State Vigilante Services, Ganaja Command in a significant move to bolster local security.

Recognizing the essential role that the vigilante officers play in maintaining peace and order, Hon. Abu took the initiative to rent and furnish the office, ensuring that the officers have a conducive working environment.

The newly furnished office, located at Nyamanyama Road in Ganaja village, a strategic area of Ajaokuta Local Government Area, is stationed to facilitate the operational efficiency of the vigilante group covering Odoeto, Gidan Bassa, Emiworo, Jimgbe, Ganaja Village, 500 Housing Units, 200 Housing Unit down to Gadumo areas.

During the official handover event on Friday, Hon. Abu appreciated the Local Government Boss, Hon Haruna Ogido in the area of security and scored him high so far. He has said his efforts in the State Constituency is to compliment the efforts put in place by the Leaders of Ajaokuta hitherto and just as the present crops are doing. He emphasized the importance of community-led security efforts and pledged his continued and unalloyed support for the State owned vigilante service.

He said the office which was set up with personal funds and donations from friends and family, will serve as a central hub for planning, coordination, and rapid response to security challenges in the area. He assured that he will continue to play his part to support the efforts of Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo in providing security for the people of Kogi State.

The Lawmaker was accompanied by his colleague representing Igalamela-Odolu state Constituency who is also the House Committee Chairman on Security, Hon Major Enefola, friends and aides of the lawmaker amongst them was Hon Sadiq Ibrahim (Ebor).

The event was attended by the Commandant General of KSVS who was represented by his Chief of staff, SPV Suleiman Adapoju. Others are SPV Samuel Alabi, the Admin Officer of KSVS; DSV Mohammed Zubairu, Commander, Ganaja Command; and officers of the vigilante services, who expressed their gratitude for the support.

The representative of the CG praised Hon. Abu’s commitment to enhancing local security infrastructure. “This office will greatly improve our ability to respond to incidents and coordinate our efforts. We are deeply thankful to Hon. Jibril Abu for his unwavering support just as the 8th House of Assembly has through the Security Committee promised to synergize with the state Government in ensuring prompt response to issues of remuneration, promotion and other matters that are classified,” he said.

Our correspondent reports that, residents of Ganaja have welcomed the development and commended the Lawmaker for not waiting for constituency allowance before intervening in constituency needs. He is said to be noiseless in achievements and one who strikes when it is red-hot.

They expressed optimism that the new Office will lead to a reduction in crime and a greater sense of Security in their Communities.
