Ankpa APC Stakeholders Endorse Chairman, Vice, 13 Ward Councillors for Second Term
Ankpa Local Government critical stakeholders and political leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC), met in Lokoja and unanimously resolved to throw their weight behind the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Engr. Adamu Muhammed Yahaya, his Vice, Hajiya Halima Imam and the 13 Ward Councillors of the 8th Legislative Council to continue in office for a second term in office.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their strong support for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue for a second term.
The endorsement was made during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday 24th November, 2025 in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Prof. Usman Ogbo who convened the meeting, expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their attendance, describing it as a clear demonstration of unity.
Prof Ogbo expressed his admiration for the Council Chairman, the Vice Chairman and the 13 Ward Councillors, commending them for their remarkable service delivery in their respective wards.
He rated their performance at 80 percent, noting that the score reflects efficiency, dedication and a clear justification for their endorsement and call for continuity.
Stakeholders who spoke during the meeting emphasized that their collective decision was informed by Engr. Adamu’s inclusive leadership style, adherence to party principles and responsiveness to the needs of Ankpa communities.
The motion for their endorsement was moved by the member representing Ankpa I State Constituency, Hon. Akus Lawal and seconded by Hon. Abbas Linco, the member representing Ankpa II, a unanimous affirmation of confidence in the council leadership.
They pledged total support for his administration continuity, assuring him of a stable, distraction-free tenure through 2027.
The stakeholders, speaking in turn further reaffirmed their commitments to mobilize grassroots backing for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing both leaders as a necessity to the sustained development of Kogi State and Nigeria.
The meeting was attended by party stalwarts, Hon. Musa Ishaka, APC Zonal organizer, North Central, Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters; Rt. Hon. Rabiu Isiaka Alfa and Zonal Security Adviser to the Governor for the Ankpa Federal Axis; and Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed.
Others present were Hon. Musa Idris, Director of Kogi State Solid Mineral Processing Company Limited; SSA on Ethics, Shaikh Sani Musa, Special Adviser on Climate Change; Hon. John Aduga, APC State Women Leader; Hon. Hawakulu T. Aduku, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization; Hon. Suleiman Yakubu, Provost of the College of Education (T) Mopa; Professor Ibrahim Mohammed Kabir; Councillors of the 8th Ankpa Legislative Council; the APC Ward Chairmen, Supervisory Councillors; APC Chairman and his executives; and several other critical stakeholders.
In his vote of thanks, the Chairman of the LG, Engineer Adamu Yahaya thanked the critical stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and promised on behalf of his team not to disappoint the stakeholders and the people of Ankpa.
The Chairman also extended his profound appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the trust and support and the people of Ankpa.
The meeting ended with a renewed resolve to strengthen unity within the party and to consolidate support for the development agenda at the local, state and national levels.
