Ankpa LG Chairman Gives Account of Stewardship at Press Conference, Rallies Support for Governor Ododo

The Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Engineer Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, on Thursday hosted a press conference at the Council Secretariat, engaging critical stakeholders, party leaders, and members of the public to highlight the developmental strides of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the local administration.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idris Mohammed Omale, the briefing was aimed at updating stakeholders and the public on the achievements recorded under the current administration at both the state and local government levels.

In his address, Engineer Ademu emphasized the importance of unity and continued collaboration to consolidate the gains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. He urged residents and stakeholders not to relent in their support for Governor Ododo’s administration, which he described as people-oriented and development-driven.

The Chairman commended Governor Ododo for his ongoing infrastructure and social development projects, including the commencement of township road construction across senatorial districts, the renovation and construction of Primary Health Centres, provision of motorized boreholes in health facilities and public spaces, and the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, arrears, and pensions. He also praised the administration’s efforts in strengthening security and safeguarding lives and property.

Describing the Governor as “a visionary leader with humility and a deep fear of God,” Engineer Ademu applauded his consistency in delivering on campaign promises, stating that his leadership has continued to inspire confidence across the state.

He further called on the people of Ankpa to resist the spread of misinformation and instead amplify the positive developments under the current administration. He assured residents that more impactful projects are in the pipeline, promising inclusive governance that prioritizes the welfare of all citizens regardless of political affiliation.

A key highlight of the event was the unanimous vote of confidence passed on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Engineer Ademu Muhammed Yahaya by stakeholders and attendees.

The event was well-attended by a wide array of dignitaries, including the Kogi State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Victor Levi Atuluku; Chairman of Dekina Local Government, Hon. John Urah Ikani; APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Ogwu Abdul Alhassan; former council chairmen, traditional rulers, Prof. Usman Ogbo; opinion leaders, youth groups, and security officials from across Ankpa and neighboring communities.
