Ankpa LG Chairman Hosts KSVS Controller General on Familiarization Visit, Vows Support for Enhanced Security

The Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, has assured the Controller General of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS), Retired Commander Abdulrahman Mariam Adinoyi, of the necessary support to enable him to combat crime as well as maintain peace and security in the Local Government Area.

The Chairman gave the assurance on Monday, April 14, 2025, while receiving the Controller General and his men during a courtesy visit to his office, at Ankpa Council Secretariat.

He emphasized Controller Abdulrahman’s cooperative relationship with local government chairmen across the 21 local government areas in the state while reaffirming his commitment to sustaining and strengthening this priceless partnership to enhance peace and development in all endeavours.

Expressing confidence in Retired Commander Abdulrahman’s leadership, Engineer Ademu highlighted the importance of collaboration with security agencies in ensuring a safer community. He also promised to sustain a usually tightened security architecture within Ankpa and its environs, just as the Chief Servant of Kogi state, H.E. Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has continued to maintain in the state.

‘Ankpa local government is a peaceful and hospitable area, and we welcome you, Retired Commander Abdulrahman Mariam Adinoyi. This visit is both necessary and timely, considering the tight security presence it showcases. Day and night, we are in fruitful touch with various community vigilante groups for reliable information, development and onward actions, in order to safeguard lives and public properties,’ Hon. Ademu stated.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to security, Engineer Ademu pledged continued logistical support and urged other stakeholders to contribute towards a safer environment. He also encouraged residents to provide relevant information to security agencies to aid crime prevention efforts.

In his remarks, Retired Commander Abdulrahman Mariam Adinoyi expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He emphasized the need for stronger synergy between Kogi State Vigilante Service and stakeholders like the local government chairmen to effectively combat criminal activities.

The Commander assured that, the KSVS would collaborate with other security agencies to tackle criminality, cultism, and other social vices. He commended the Chairman for his administration’s continued support for security agencies and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining peace and order in the area.

‘Your coming today signifies executive directives. Just as Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is aware, Ankpa local government is a zero-crime area, and the together with the Council Chairman, we will continue to uphold the enviable status,’ Ahmed stated.

In an engaging interactive session among youths, NTA-Ankpa, and stakeholders of the area present, Engineer Ademu, commended Commander Abdulrahman for his leadership and commitment to security within the state. He assured that Ankpa local government remains dedicated to supporting the KSVS and other security agencies in achieving their objective of maintaining peace and order in the area, as he places priority on human lives and property, for business to strive.
