Ankpa LG Chairman Inaugurates Task Force on Heavy-Duty Vehicle, Motorcycle Operations

The Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Engineer Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, has inaugurated a six-member task force to regulate the movement of heavy-duty vehicles and motorcycle operations within the local government.
During the inauguration ceremony, Engineer Ademu charged the committee with eliminating unauthorized activities related to motorcycle operations and the movement of heavy-duty vehicles. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring traffic control and safety by blocking all unauthorized entry points into Ankpa town. This initiative aims to enhance traffic management and reduce accidents.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Idris Mohammed Omale, The Chairman acknowledged the efforts of his predecessors in establishing this initiative and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to safeguard and build upon this legacy. He stressed that the project aligns with the collective aspirations of Ankpa’s residents for improved road safety and traffic regulation.
The committee, composed of stakeholders and community representatives, has been mandated to enforce traffic regulations and ensure strict compliance with government directives to prevent road mishaps.

Members of the committee include Alhaji Abdulkerim Muhammed – Chairman, Mr. AbdulKadir Jibrin – Secretary; Mr. Danladi Megedu – Member; Abdulkerim Musa (Okada Chairman) – Member; Danjuma Tanko – Member and Idris Mohammed Omale – Member
Security agencies, including the Police, Civil Defence, Department of State Services (DSS), Hunters, and Vigilante groups, will work alongside the committee to ensure effective enforcement.
Speaking on behalf of the task force, its Chairman, Alhaji Abdulkerim Muhammed (A.K. Odawn), expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman for entrusting them with this responsibility. He assured the local government of the committee’s full commitment to executing its mandate effectively, ensuring road safety, and maintaining order in the area.
