Ankpa Stands Still as Dr. MK Ibrahim Receives Historic Traditional Title

The ancient town of Ankpa was agog with excitement on Friday, as Dr. Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, the esteemed Provost of Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, was turbaned as Oma-Anuma Ejeh (Danmasanin Ankpa), by the Ankpa Traditional Council.

Dignitaries from various walks of life converged in the palace of HRH Alh. Abubakar Ahmed Yakubu (II) the Ejeh Ankpa, to celebrate the occasion, highlighting the profound impact of Dr. Ibrahim’s contributions. Traditional rulers, scholars, and government officials joined hands to honor a man whose dedication has elevated the standards of education and community service.

In bestowing the title of Oma-Anuma which translates to “Our Learned Son,” the Ankpa Traditional Council stated that this recognition is based on the Provost’s educational attainments both within and outside the shores of Nigeria, his relentless commitment to community development, and his transformative leadership at the College of Education, Ankpa.

The conferment has been widely lauded as a symbol of Dr. Ibrahim’s esteemed status among his people. Many have celebrated the conferment as an attestation to the Council’s acknowledgment of the Provost’s exceptional contributions to the community and the educational sector.
