APC 2023 guber election review committee submits report to party

….state party chairman assures implementation of committe’s recommendations.

The Kogi state All Progressives congress on Wednesday at the party office took delivery of the special report and recommendations by the recently inaugurated APC 2023 gubernatorial election review committee.

Receiving the report from the committe, the Chairman Kogi state’s All Progressives Congress, Hon. Abdullahi Bello assured that the party would look diligently at the details of the report and act accordingly on the recommendations.

He hinted that the report would strengthen and make it more responsive, strong and be in a position to achieve greater heights in future elections.

The chairman also noted that the report would also guide the party in rewarding its member who distinguished themselves and as well deter those that betrayed the party.

He also noted that the party will be in a better position to plan and organise its preparation towards future election which would include the before, during and after such electioneering season.

The chairman thanked the members of the committee doing a very good job and finding time to deal with the terms of reference and also deal with all the issues with regards to the 2023 gubernatorial election

In a remark, earlier made by the chairman of the 2023 kogi gubernatorial review committee and speaker of the Kogi state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, he said that after the assignment was given to them on Dec 5, 2023, they met with critical stakeholders of the party across the 21 LGA.

He noted that the roboust interaction they had with all and sundry and their frank, honest and unreserved responses and testimonies served as the bedrock for the committee’s report and recommendations.

The speaker who was represented by committees’ co-chairman and commisioner for solid Minerals, Eng. Bashir Gegu attested that party members welcomed the idea of an election post mortem noting that they deemed it as timely, appropriate and suggested that it should be a continued occurrence.

He mentioned that the committee dealt decisively with all the issues relating to the party’s preparation, during and post election matters, other issues such as logistics for ward meetings, engagements, security agencies, INEC and others.

The speaker said that other issues as detailed in their report and recomendation including party cohesion and collaboration, party unity, effective leadership and election coordination and management were detailed in every section of the report.

He noted that areas the party would need to address amongst several others included party reward system, party exco restructuring, party discipline and Anti party activities amongst critical party stakeholders.

The Committee appreciated the party and the leaders for the opportunity to serve in such capacity for the overall progress and development of the party and the state as a whole.
