Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Amb. Asmawu Idris Hails Nigerian Army, Sympathizes with Families of Fallen Heroes

In commemoration of the Annual Army Remembrance Day held on January 15th, Ambassador Asmawu Idris, Country Head of Nigeria Young Women of Africa (YWOA), has paid tribute to the Nigerian Army for its bravery and commitment to safeguarding the nation.

Amb. Idris extended heartfelt condolences to the families of fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. She emphasized that their courage, loyalty, and dedication to protecting Nigeria remain a source of inspiration for the country’s continued pursuit of unity and peace.

“We remember their courage, loyalty, and dedication to protecting our country and its people. May their memories continue to inspire us to strive for a united and peaceful Nigeria,” she stated.

Amb. Idris specifically honored the memories of distinguished officers such as Lieutenant Oluwafemi Odushina, Captain Kenneth Onubah, Lieutenant Colonel Abu Ali, and Major SK Umaru, recognizing their valor and selflessness in ensuring national security. She also sent condolences to their bereaved families, acknowledging the pain of their loss.

Highlighting the need for national solidarity, Amb. Idris called on Nigerians to reflect on the sacrifices of the armed forces and reaffirm their commitment to supporting military personnel in their mission to uphold peace and security.

“As we remember our fallen heroes, let us also acknowledge the sacrifices of their families, who have had to endure the pain of losing a loved one. We stand in solidarity with them and assure them that their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” she added.

Amb. Idris concluded by urging all citizens to continue striving for a Nigeria where peace, justice, and freedom prevail.
