Association of Local Govt Secretaries meets with Elder Joel Oyibo, Pledge Loyalty to Administration of Gov Ododo »

In a display of solidarity and commitment to the administration, the Association of Local Government Secretaries in Kogi State yesterday paid a visit to the Deputy Governor, Joel Salifu Oyibo expressing their unwavering loyalty and support to the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Led by their chairman, Hon. Alhaji Alhaji (the Secretary of Idah Local Government Area), the delegation conveyed their appreciation for the efforts of the state government in ensuring effective governance at the grassroots level.

During the meeting held at the Deputy Governor’s residence in Lokoja, discussions centered on ways to enhance collaboration between the local government secretaries and the state government for the overall development of the state.

On his part, the Secretary of the association who is also the secretary of Okehi Local Government Area, Hon. Mathew James Omeiza, reiterated the association’s commitment to supporting governors Ododo’s consolidation agenda and pledged to work tirelessly towards the realization of his goals. He also highlighted some of the challenges facing local government secretaries and solicited the government’s intervention in addressing them.

Reacting the Deputy Governor, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, emphasized the crucial role played by local government secretaries in the implementation of government policies and programs at the grassroots level. He commended the association for their dedication and assured them of the government’s commitment to their welfare and professional development.

The Deputy Governor said the government of Alhaji Usman Ododo is that of the people which puts the people first.

He advised the secretaries to be loyal to their bosses (Chairmen) at the local government level, stressing that the administration of Governor Ododo is working with the clean template of his predecessor, Yahaya Bello to ensure unity, peace and overall development of the state.

He assured that the government will look into the requests of the secretaries and ensure thet they get the necessary tools to aid their efficiency and effectiveness in office.
