At ’Udama’ Concert, entertainers call for increased unity in Igala land, Kogi state

An ensemble of Igala entertainers have drummed the urgency for increased unity amongst Igala sons and daughters for the continued progress of the Land and Kogi State by extension.
They made the call during the ’Udama-abo-Igala’ concert and tour kicked-off at the Ata Igala Palace Civic Center in Idah, where they advocated for peace, and tolerance, urging youths to further embrace entrepreneurship, shun electoral malpractices, and other social vices.
The concert, featuring tours across all the LGAs of Kogi East was convened by Igala music legend, Alhaji TJ Bala’s Igala Artistes United in partnership with Ufedo Foundation of Nigeria was attended by Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja; the Ata Igala, HRM, Chief Matthew Opaluwa Oguche represented by the Achadu Oko Attah, and other eminent sons and daughters of IgalaLand.
Performing the flag-off, Chief Onoja lauded the Initiative and disclosed that love remains the bedrock of unity which is a precursors for peace progress and development. He encouraged the organizers on teamwork,transparency and accountability in molding and directing its vision without being partisan.
He explained that Governor Bello has inspired a leadership of tolerance, peace, and unity in Kogi State, stressing the urgency to go back to the drawing board of sacrifice, love and understanding Igalas are known for.
“It is for the love of the Land and her people that our great ancestors paid the ultimate price via sacrifice which I urge all sons and daughters of Igala land to emulate,” he said.
On forthcoming elections, he stated that “logic and common sense will prevail” at the end of the day based on the experiences,antecedents and impact of all candidates accessed by stakeholders across party lines with regards to what’s best for our land and people.
Other stakeholders used the occasion to pray for sustained unity, peace, and development of Igalaland.
