Auditor-General for Local Government Commends Lokoja LG for Accountability, Teamwork »

The Auditor-General for Local Government in Kogi State, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege, has commended the leadership of Lokoja Local Government Area for its commitment to financial responsibility, transparency, and effective teamwork.

Hon. Adabenege gave the commendation during a working visit to the office of the Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu. The visit was part of ongoing oversight and engagement with local government councils across the state to promote best practices in governance and fiscal management.

Speaking during the visit, the Auditor-General praised the Chairman and the Local Government Management team, led by the Director of Local Government Administration, Mallam Aliyu Musa Omuwa, and the Treasurer, Mrs. Ayodele Peace, for fostering unity and prioritizing accountable use of public funds. He noted that the team’s approach exemplifies the state government’s vision of efficient, people-focused local governance.

Hon. Adabenege expressed satisfaction with the day-to-day running of Lokoja Local Government under Comrade Abdullahi Adamu’s leadership. He urged the team to sustain their collaborative spirit and commitment to service delivery, emphasizing that effective local governance is vital to the development of the entire state.

During the interaction, Comrade Adamu, the Executive Chairman, welcomed the Auditor-General and described him as a dedicated and approachable public servant whose personal qualities of patience, hard work, and resourcefulness have long been evident. He also used the opportunity to appreciate the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for prioritizing security across the state, particularly through investments aimed at tackling insecurity in Lokoja and other vulnerable local government areas.
