Bayelsa, Niger, Nassarawa, Rivers, and Kaduna CAN Chapters applaud Gov Bello of Kogi State over Government House Chapel
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has continued to receive encomium from leaderships of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) across the states of the federation for his decision to build a worship center for Christians in Government House.
The accolades which came from the leaderships of CAN in Bayelsa, Niger, Nassarawa, Rivers, and Kaduna states, also congratulated the Kogi State chapter of the association under the leadership of Bishop John Ibenu for the feat being achieved in his tenure.
They commended the Governor for fostering religious harmony, saying that his resolve to give Christians a sense of belonging which was not the erstwhile practice since the creation of the state spoke volumes of his large heart.
They body called on leaders in other parts of Nigeria to take a cue from Governor Bello to replicate same in their various states to ensure fairness, equity and religious tolerance.
It could be recalled that Monday last week, the New Direction Administration of Governor Yahaya started the construction of a chapel in government house which will afford Christians within the premises a befitting worship center.
In attendance at the ground breaking ceremony were the National President of CAN, Reverend Supo Ayokunle, religious groups, traditional rulers, political stalwarts, friends of the government and others.
