Boundary: Gov Bello has zero tolerance for insecurity – Chief Aiyelabowo
As part of efforts to ensure peace and security among the neighbouring communities of Alu in Yagba east local government area of Kogi State and Ilasa/ Ikole community of Ekiti state, the Ala ALU of Alu Kingdom, HRH, Oba Oladele Togun paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kogi State, Hon.Aiyelabowo Adebanji Austin.
The Oba, disclosed while speaking at the interface on the boundary issues his community has been tackling thus far with her neighbouring communities. He the move became imperative to maintain peaceful co-existence amongst the good people of Alu kingdom and those of Ekiti state.
He stated that the community is bounded by Ikole, Irele, Ayepode, Ayedun, Ipao and Ilasa respectively.
The King pointed out that due to increase in rate of Encroachment by the various communities she shares boundaries with, it has brought so much dispute and hardship to his people because they no longer have access to her lands, a situation which over time resulted in violent clashes between Alu and those communities where properties and livelihood were destroyed.
He also refered back to an earlier judgement passed by a court ruling that the affected areas ( lands) be ceded back to Alu kingdom.
“Agriculture is our main source of survival ,we need our lands for farming and other agricultural practices so as to be able to cater for our family and individual needs.” he added.
On his part, the SSA on Boundary matters, thanked the royal father and his entourage for taking a bold step in the right direction towards liberating and finding lasting solutions to issues of Encroachment in her community. Hon (Chief) Aiyelabowo in his words said governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is a man of peace and progress and that it would be his utmost joy to maintain peace in the state and also with it’s neighbouring states.
He however, informed the delegation that the government will look into thier plight and help find lasting solutions as the delineation of Fct/Kogi has commenced.
Chief Aiyelabowo charged the traditional leaders of the community to continue to preach peace, unity within it’s locality and support the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
