Stakeholders from Lokoja II in Lokoja Local Government Area, have, on Saturday, adopted the candidature of the caretaker chairman of the council, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu in the forthcoming LG election.

This is their resolution at the end of a high powered deliberation in Lokoja.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf said the conclusion is as a result of the track record of the caretaker chairman since his appointment.

He noted that since assumption of office, Comrade Abdullahi has demonstrated that their belief in his ability to pilot the affairs of Lokoja LGA which propelled them to convince the state government to appoint him was not a mistake as he has taken proactive steps to right the wrongs of the past.

The Speaker noted that the transparent, people – oriented, and development – centred policies of the caretaker chairman have endeared him to all the stakeholders and groups across Lokoja Local Government, making him the most sellable among those eyeing the chairmanship seat.

He therefore enjoined the people of the area to also rally round the Comrade Abdul, noting that the ruling APC would not make the mistake of fielding a candidate that would make campaigns difficult for the supporters.

Other speakers at the meeting also toed the same line, describing Comrade Abdullahi Adamu as a tested and trusted candidate capable of winning the election for the APC with minimal effort.

The meeting was attended by the immediate past member of the State House of Assembly for Lokoja II, Hon Idris Ndako, the former speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Abdulrahman Dangana, the DLG for the Local Government, APC Ward chairmen for the five wards of Lokoja II, among others.
