Breaking: Tribunal dismisses PDP’s petition against Bello’s election
The Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal election in Abuja has dismissed a petition challenging the reelection of Yahaya Bello as the Kogi State Governor.
Mr. Bello was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC ) in the November 16, 2019 poll in Kogi State.
In a 2/1 majority judgment delivered by the chairman of the 3 men panel, Justice Kashim Kaigama, the tribunal struck out the petition for lack of substantial evidence by the opposition.
A fine of N500,000 was awarded favor of the respondent.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Musa Wada, challenged Mr Bello’s victory at the tribunal.
