Buhari Says Uzodimma, Ododo’s Elections Reaffirm Imo, Kogi Residents’ Confidence In APC
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated his party – the All Progressives Congress (APC) – for winning the governorship elections in Imo and Kogi states.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Garba Shehu on Monday, Buhari thanked the people of Imo and Kogi for “reaffirming their confidence in the nation’s biggest political party”.
The former president commended the party’s leadership for the feat
“The former President thanks particularly the party leaders and the workers who laboured tirelessly to ensure the re-emergence of Senator Hope Uzodimma @Hope_Uzodimma1 for his second term in Imo State, and Alhaji Usman Ododo @OfficialOAU as the new Governor of Kogi State.
“My best wishes to them for their tenure,” the former President says.
InsideStory reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Prof Mahmood Yakubu declared Uzodimma and Alhaji Usman Ododo as the winners of Saturday’s off-cycle elections in Imo and Kogi respectively.
