Kogi State Government has handed over the renovation of the State House of Assembly complex to Josmud Nigeria Company Limited with an ultimatum to execute the work within eight weeks.

Handing over the document to the Company, the Commissioner of Works and Housing, Honourable Bako Sampson said Governor Yahaya Bello was desirous of seeing members of the 8th Assembly resumes legislative business at the Assembly complex upon the completion of their break.

The Works and Housing Commissioner who described the design for the renovation as impressive, told the contractor to ensure quality job and as specified in the document.

He warned against any form of shoddy job, stressing that the Ministry would monitor the work closely and where any defects are found the job would be stopped.

In his remark, the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mr. Joshua Oluwashegun commended the the present administration under the Leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello for the confidence reposed in the Company, saying he was aware of the Governor’s taste for solid and quality job, assuring that they would deliver within the stipulated time.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf expressed delight over the State Governor’s prompt response towards the renovation of the Complex after interfacing with him to give the building a face lift even with the inconveniences being experienced at the Speaker’s Lodge where Members carry out legislative functions

The Speaker promised the Governor and people of Kogi State of a robust legislation by the members that would enhance good governance of the state and thanked the Governor for the prompt attention being given to the renovation of the Assembly Structure.

He charged the Contractor to expedite action on the work and ensure they finish in record time.

It would be recalled that on the tenth of October, 2022, the Assembly Complex where the Lawmakers carry out their statutory business gutted fire.
