Cabinet Reshuffle: Democracy Newsline Congratulates Steel Development Minister Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu
The management of Michabifem Ventures Limited, publisher of Democracy Newsline newspaper and online blog, has issued a strong congratulatory message to the Honorable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, following his retention in the recent cabinet reshuffle where five federal ministers were dismissed by President Bola Tinubu.
In a message signed by the Chairman/CEO of the company, Chief Olugbemi Femi, the minister was praised for his tireless efforts in reviving the long-abandoned Ajaokuta steel plant, a project that has been in limbo for over 40 years.
Chief Olugbemi highlighted that a recent survey, which recognized the Steel Development Minister as the overall best-performing minister in 2024, was well-founded, given his substantial work in bringing life back to the dormant Ajaokuta plant, stressing that the project has the potential to revolutionize Nigeria’s industrial sector.
He noted the recent memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with Russian steel experts, along with partnerships with a Chinese company, as significant steps toward making the plant operational for the benefit of the nation.
The message also acknowledged Prince Shuaibu Audu’s collaborative efforts with ministries such as Defense and Works, aimed at reducing the importation of steel materials necessary for construction and the manufacturing of armored products.
Chief Olugbemi emphasized that the minister is not only making the younger generation proud but has also demonstrated strong values, stemming from his roots in Kogi State.
Furthermore, Chief Olugbemi commended President Bola Tinubu for his confidence in Prince Shuaibu, enabling him to continue the good works with the team toward establishing a robust and functional steel sector in Nigeria.
In closing, he urged the minister to intensify his efforts to ensure the Ajaokuta steel plant begins operations soon, aligning with the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu’s administration.
He remarked, “To whom much is given, much more is required,” recognizing Prince Shuaibu as an admirable representative of young people in governance and a proud ambassador of Kogi State.
