The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe has unveiled plans to empower artisans across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State. This was made known after a brief chat with members of the Press in Lokoja earlier today.

The initiative, tagged the Artisan Empowerment Scheme, will run from 7th October 2025 and is strategically designed to provide practical opportunities for youths to acquire and enhance essential skills that can translate into sustainable livelihoods.

With the Theme: “Independence and Innovation: Skills for a Better Tomorrow”, the programme will focus on training in vital trades such as Hairdressing, Barbing, Tailoring, Welding, and Plumbing. These areas have been carefully selected to equip participants with hands-on abilities that are relevant, marketable, and capable of driving economic self-reliance.

Eligible youths across Kogi State are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by completing their registration through the designated portal at https://forms.gle/4keq65iiovqrNP3d8. The registration window will close strictly at 12 noon on 2nd October, 2025.

The Artisan Empowerment Scheme represents a significant step towards enabling Kogi youths to embrace innovation, build valuable careers, and contribute meaningfully to community and state development.
