Cash Grants: Ajaokuta Chairman Ogido Backs SEA, Ododo, Tinubu for Re-Election »

The Executive Chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Hon. Aliyu Ogido Haruna has led residents in endorsing the re-election bids of the Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem (SEA); the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The endorsement followed a cash-grant initiative sponsored by Hon. Ogido to support constituents running micro-businesses, with the aim of strengthening economic activities across the communities.

Hon. Ogido described the gesture as modest yet impactful, explaining that it was designed to assist small-scale business owners in need of financial support.

He added that the intervention complements the recent mega empowerment programme executed by Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, which, according to him, transformed numerous lives across the constituency.

The Ajaokuta Council Chairman highlighted some of his achievements in office, particularly in enhancing local security through the recruitment of community vigilantes to support national security agencies. He also referenced the prompt payment of staff salaries, settlement of leave bonuses, and his collaboration with both state and federal governments to deliver key developmental projects within the area.

Hon. Ogido commended Governor Ododo for his infrastructural investments in Ajaokuta LGA, citing the recent Eganyi–Ebiya Road flag-off, the Geregu Rice Mill project, the ongoing Ajaokuta Free Trade Zone development, and the provision of essential logistics to boost security operations. He reaffirmed his commitment to securing all government projects and institutions domiciled in Ajaokuta.

He also acknowledged the contributions of former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, praising his foresight in transforming Kogi State. Ogido emphasized that public officeholders must continue to support Governor Ahmed Ododo in consolidating and expanding the gains achieved by the APC-led administration since inception.

The chairman concluded by moving a motion for the endorsement of all APC candidates ahead of the next election cycle. The motion received unanimous approval, affirming support for the re-election of Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Present at the event were first-class traditional rulers, youth groups, women representatives, party stakeholders, community leaders, and other dignitaries.
