Charity Ijese Rolls Out Empowerment Scheme for Ogori-Magongo Constituents

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Youth and Women Mobilization, Hon. Charity Ijese, has launched a large-scale empowerment initiative for residents of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area, distributing livelihood support items to beneficiaries across the council.

The empowerment programme, held at the Ogori-Magongo Local Government Secretariat, featured the distribution of generator sets, sewing machines, gas cylinders and burners, hair clippers, grinding machines and bags of rice to indigent residents drawn from the ten wards of the local government.

The event attracted a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including the Chairman of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Rosemary Isiazhu, former local government chairmen, past and serving members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, traditional rulers, youth and women leaders, as well as political associates and supporters of the Special Adviser.

The programme was chaired by the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ali Bello, who was represented by the Majority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Suleiman Abdulrazaq.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ijese described the initiative as her way of giving back to society and appreciating the people of Ogori-Magongo for their support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. She said the governor’s leadership style is inclusive and development-driven, stressing that Ogori-Magongo remains a priority area in the state’s development agenda.

She disclosed that plans were underway for the reconstruction of the Okene-Ageva-Ogori road, and the upgrade of the general hospital amongst other things, urging residents to sustain their support for the current administration. According to her, the empowerment programme was only a starting point, assuring that more interventions would follow.

In her remarks, the council chairperson, Hon. Rosemary Ohiezu, commended the Special Adviser for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. She noted that the gesture would boost grassroots confidence in governance and strengthen party cohesion in the area. She urged residents to remain united and continue supporting the Ododo administration.

Other speakers at the event praised Hon. Ijese for her commitment to grassroots development and called on the people to sustain their support for the All Progressives Congress and the state government.

Delivering his address, Hon. Suleiman Abdulrazaq, on behalf of the Chief of Staff, described the empowerment scheme as laudable and worthy of emulation. He said Hon. Ijese had demonstrated passion and consistency in advancing the welfare of her people. He reiterated the commitment of the Ododo administration to inclusive development and assured that Ogori-Magongo would continue to benefit from government programmes and projects.

Beneficiaries of the empowerment items expressed appreciation to the Special Adviser for the support, describing it as a boost to their livelihoods. They pledged continued support for the state government and its policies.

The presentation of items to beneficiaries from the ten wards of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area marked the highlight of the event.
