Chief Babayemi meets with Kogi NYCN exco, pledges N1m for Youth House renovation
A philanthropist, Chief Babayemi Olorunfemi Wednesday pledged to support the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter in the renovation and equipping of the Kogi Youth House.
Babayemi made the promise during a visit to the youth house in Lokoja where he met with the Acting Chairman, Comr. Osiako Sunday, other executives and stakeholders of the council. He said the youth house, especially that of Kogi State where youths have been given a sense of belonging by the government, should be a melting point of youth activities, adding that the Kogi State youth house deserves a befitting face-lift.
The philanthropist after a tour of the facility made a pledge of One million naira which would be used to begin renovation works at the youth house, promising to release more funds to further equip the place upon a satisfactory utilization of the initial one million.
The APC stalwart who is also the Chairman of Babayemi Vanguard Support Group for Ododo, urged youths in Kogi state to continue in their support for the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo in order to secure a better future for the state.
He said the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello has laid a solid foundation for the youths, and enjoined them to eschew any form of division and join hands with the government and the APC to move the state forward.
Reacting, the Acting Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter, Comrade Osiako Sunday thanked Chief Babayemi for his gesture.
He noted that his plan for the youth house is to upgrade the standard by sufficiently utilizing the space by establishing educational and recreational centers for youths as well as establishing a mini amusement park for children. He promised that the donation will be judiciously utilized for the intended purpose.
Comrade Osiako also hinted on the plans of the council to inaugurate its independent campaign council for the APC governorship candidate, Usman Ododo, adding that the APC government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello has done much for youths in the state and they are ready to vote massively for the party’s candidate to ensure sustainability and consolidation.
