Chief Onoja attends funeral mass of Barr. Funsho’s brother in Iyara
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja on Friday attended the funeral mass of the deceased brother of Barr. Funsho Fayomi, Mr. Kingsley Adebayo Fayemi held at Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Iyara in Ijumu Local Government Area.
The deceased, Mr. Kingsley Fayomi was a retired teacher and a respected community leader.
In his message, the Deputy Governor charged Christians to live exemplary lives in service to God and humanity noting that the good that one does will count both on earth and the hereafter.
He said the Late Fayomi while on earth as a teacher contributed to the educational development of people, molding many who have become great in the society, adding that the tribute from family and friends showed that he was a man loved by many.
Onoja urged his friend Barr. Funsho and other members of the Fayomi family to take solace in the fact that the deceased was committed to serving God whilst on earth.
Bar. Funsho Fayomi, on behalf of the family thanked the church for their support since the demise of his brother and appreciated the Deputy Governor for honoring the invitation despite the short notice.
The funeral service was presided over by the Bishop of the Cathedral, Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Ojo.
