Chief Onoja Commends Senator Karimi on Statewide Scholarship Initiative
Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onoja has commended the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Karimi for the recent scholarship disbursement to students of tertiary institutions of Kogi origin across all 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
In a statement through his media aide, Agene Zeek, Onoja stated, “This scholarship intervention, valued at about ₦300,000,000 for the 2025/2026 academic session, speaks directly to the soul of the New Nigeria we all aspire to build. It is leadership defined by inclusion, fairness, and a clear understanding that our shared future is bigger than zones or political boundaries.”
He further noted that “a Senator representing Kogi West extending a helping hand to students across the entire state is a powerful reminder that progress comes when we build bridges, not barriers. This is how unity is strengthened and trust in governance is renewed.”
Chief Onoja encouraged other public office holders to emulate the gesture, stressing that “when leadership is driven by equity and a genuine commitment to people, development becomes inevitable. In the end, we are all winners when Kogi wins.”
He also urged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity and to remain focused on their academic pursuits, adding that the gesture should inspire excellence, discipline, and a renewed sense of responsibility to the state. He called on them to remember Senator Karimi in their prayers, while also praying for “a Kogi State that truly works for all.”
