Chief Onoja leads Olamaboro stakeholders to welcome former lawmaker, Linus Enenche, others from PDP back to APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to deal heavy blow to other political parties in Olamaboro LGA of Kogi State as the Deputy Governor of the State, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja, on Saturday, received Hon Linus Enenche and his teeming PDP supporters back to the APC.
Hon Linus Enenche who boasts of a strong political pedigree was a former Education Secretary, former APC State Secretary, and the former lawmaker representing Olamaboro Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly.
The defection ceremony took place at Etutekpe, Olamaboro Ward II, and was attended by the Chairman, Olamaboro LGA, Hon Friday Adejoh; member representing Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency, Hon Abdullahi Halims, incumbent Olamaboro State Constituency Member and APC Assembly Party Flag bearer, Hon. Bobby Alewo Ujah and other APC stalwarts.
Recall that thousands of members of the Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) last Sunday, decamped to the APC at the Okpo Ceremonial Square in Olamaboro.
Speaking, Chief Onoja described Hon Linus Enenche as a political heavyweight and staunch grassroots mobilizer whose return was a valuable addition to the APC Family.
He said the gale of defections to the APC was a sign of increasing acceptance of the Party as well as the recognition of the enormous achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello as the Leader of the APC in Kogi State.
The Deputy Governor directed that Hon Linus Enenche be accorded all leadership rights and responsibilities to help him bring his years of expertise to bare in delivering on the vision of the APC, especially in Olamaboro Ward II.
Earlier, Hon Linus Enenche revealed that his defection to the APC is a mere homecoming given his long-standing history with the Party. He described the APC as a Family with people-oriented values ad it believes and upholds its core democratic tenets.
While assuring of his commitment to these ideals, he commended Chief Onoja for his exemplary leadership as the number one political leader in Kogi East whom he also said, was the major driving force that inspired his return to the APC.
