Chief Onoja Represents Gov Bello at “Day of Tributes” for Late Chief Dokpesi, Attends Requiem Mass
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja, on Monday, represented Governor Yahaya Bello at the “Day of Tributes” for Late High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications who passed away on May 29, 2023.
The event was held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja where dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers took turns to honor the memories of the Late media entrepreneur.
In his tributes on behalf of Governor Bello, Chief Onoja described Dokpesi as a disruptive innovator in the broadcast industry who worked very hard to promote freedom of the press, access to information, good governance, and national development.
According to him, the media mogul lived a life of an enduring legacy and would be fondly missed for his exemplary years of hard work, selflessness, and excellent service to humanity.
He continued, “If you stand at the river banks of the River Niger at Idah in Kogi State and gaze across the waters, you will see the shores of Chief Dokpesi’s hometown of Agenebode in Edo State. High Chief Dokpesi was not only our friend in Kogi State, he was also our brother.”
He conveyed the commiserations of the Government and people of Kogi State to the Dokpesi Family, praying that God grants the deceased eternal rest and those he has left behind, the fortitude to bear his loss.
As part of the week-long activities, Chief Onoja also represented Governor Bello at the requiem mass for the late media entrepreneur held on Tuesday at the Church of the Assumption in Asokoro, Abuja.
