Christmas: Imbibe virtues of increased piety, love, peaceful coexistence, Chief Onoja urges Christians
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja warmly felicitates with Christians in the State, country, and world over on the occasion of Christmas.
He recalls that Christmas signifies the birth of Jesus Christ who Himself is an embodiment of sacrificial love, saying it also calls for increased prayers to God to put an end to all the security, economic, and other pockets of challenges affecting the country.
In a Goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Promise Emmanuel, Chief Onoja enjoins Christians to continually spread the love of Christ with family, friends, neighbors, and the underprivileged in the society whilst utilizing the festive period to pray for sustainable peace, unity, and prosperity in the nation.
His words: “As followers of Jesus Christ, we must rededicate ourselves to His teachings which emphasize tolerance, love, patience, kindness, care for the needy, and accommodation to every tribe and faith.
“It is also a period to make these virtues more evident and practical in our daily lives even as we keep praying for sustainable peace, unity, and prosperity in our nation. I urge us to continually pray that God empowers our Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello, and his New Direction Team to continually deliver on his campaign promises to the people.
“I wish you a Merry Christmas and may the blessings of the New Born King grant you fulfillment in your family and endeavors,“ he said.
