Christmas: Kogi Youth Commissioner Distributes Rice to Civil Servants in Ministry
In a gesture of goodwill and support during the festive season, the Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, has distributed bags of rice to civil servants in the ministry as part of the Christmas celebration.
The distribution, which took place at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Lokoja, aimed to support the civil servants and ensure they enjoy a joyous and fulfilling Christmas with their families.
Speaking during the distribution on Thursday, Hon. Anyebe said the gesture is in line with the practice of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of showing compassion and solidarity, especially during the festive period. “This is a season of giving and sharing. We understand the critical role played by our civil servants, and this gesture is our way of showing appreciation for their dedication and contributions to the growth of the state,” he said.
The Youth Commissioner also encouraged the civil servants to embrace the spirit of Christmas by spreading love and kindness within their families and communities. He reaffirmed the ministry’s dedication to youth empowerment and community development in the coming year.
The initiative was warmly received by the beneficiaries, who expressed gratitude for the Commissioner’s thoughtfulness. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Haruna Jibo, described the distribution as a “timely intervention” that would ease the burden of holiday expenses.
“This support means a lot to us. It shows that our Commissioner care for our welfare just as governor Ododo cares for Kogi civil servants”, Jibo said.
He assured that the staff of the Ministry will continue to give their best in service to the state.
