Christmas: Promote Peace, Unity As Exemplified By Christ – Pharm. Asuku Urge Christians

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Mohammad Jamiu has extended his felicitation to Christians in Kogi State and Nigeria as they join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Christmas — the birth of Jesus Christ.

Pharmacist Asuku in a message he personally signed and made available to journalists on Saturday said Christmas season represents hope, peace and goodwill for mankind, urging faithfuls to promote peaceful coexistence in the country.

The statement reads: “I felicitate with our Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria, most especially those from Kogi State in this joyous occasion of Christmas 2021, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.

“In Christianity, Christmas season represents joy, peace, hope, love and goodwill. These are worthy values which Jesus’ Advent symbolise”.

“I wish to, therefore, enjoin all faithfuls to appropriate the hope that comes with Christmas and reinvest trust in this country by promoting peace and unity as exemplified by the life and teachings of Christ”.

“Let us use this season of goodwill and joy to renew our faith in the oneness of this nation by shunning ethic divide, disunity, religious extremism which further divides us than unites us”.

“I use this occasion also to call on our teaming youths to embrace peace and shun violence even at the point of provocation”.

In Kogi, despite differences in tribe, tradition,
political and religious affiliations, my principal His Excellency, Alhaji Yahay Adoza Bello has been able to manage our diversity by ensuring everyone has their right protected, either to worship or their choice of association, this we pray the nation have a taste of come 2023″.

“Remain vigilant even as this festive season witnesses increased travels and celebrations. Staying alive to enjoy future festivals should be the watchword”.
