Commissioner Condoles Odo-Ape Community, Urges Youths to Support Law Enforcement in Pursuit of Attackers
The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, has extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Odo Ape community in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, following a tragic attack by unidentified assailants that claimed the lives of two individuals, including a youth.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Honourable Aridaojo expressed deep sorrow over the incident and condemned the attack in the strongest terms, describing it as a senseless act that has caused grief and unrest in the community.
While addressing the youths of Odo Ape, the Commissioner urged them to remain calm and avoid resorting to self-help or retaliatory actions. Instead, he encouraged them to cooperate fully with security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“I sympathize with the families of the victims and the entire Odo Ape community during this difficult time. I urge the youths to channel their pain and frustration constructively by supporting law enforcement agencies in their quest to apprehend those responsible for this heinous act,” he said.
Honourable Aridaojo also commended the swift directive by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to security agencies to go after the attackers, reiterating the state government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
He further assured the community that the government would leave no stone unturned in its efforts to address the incident and prevent future occurrences, emphasizing the importance of peaceful coexistence and community vigilance.
The Commissioner called on traditional and community leaders to join hands with the government and security forces in fostering unity and providing intelligence that could aid the investigation.
