(Photos) Completed Lokoja Mega Terminal Set To Begin Operations

The efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello to make the Lokoja Ultramodern bus Terminal operational appears to be yielding positive results as completion works advances in preparation for its take off.

Recall that the terminal which was hurriedly commissioned by former Governor Idris Wada after loosing the 2015 governorship election could not be put to proper use due to contract irregularities and non-completion of vital parts of the terminal, which included erosion control works, power installation, internal finishing amongst others.

Governor Yahaya Bello had inaugurated three separate committees last year to cahoot with relevant stakeholders in the transport sector and work out modalities for the smooth take- off of the terminal.

The Lokoja ultra modern park was designed with the aim of ensuring that transportation activities (inter-state, intercity and intra-city) are conducted in a secured and conducive environment without any adverse effect on traffic flow within Lokoja City.

The Lokoja Mega Terminal has the capacity of retaining not less than 500 vehicles at a time.

The InsideStoryNg visit to terminal revealed that the facilities currently being equipped includes a food court, terminal building, ATM gallery, loading bays, security posts, gate houses, drivers lounge, rest rooms, mechanical workshops, generator/power house, car wash, VIO/ KOTRAMA section amongst others.
