Comr Enesi Declares for NYCN Kogi Chairmanship, Promises Inclusive Youth Empowerment Agenda

Comrade Abdulrahman Abdulmumuni Enesi, a prominent youth advocate from Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Chairman of the Kogi State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

Speaking during his declaration in Lokoja the state capital on Wednesday, Comrade Enesi unveiled a comprehensive vision centered on youth empowerment, unity, social reform, and inclusive development across the 21 local government areas of the state.

“This aspiration is not born out of personal ambition, but from a deep-seated commitment to serve and contribute meaningfully to the progress of Kogi youths,” Enesi stated.

He commended the achievements of the outgoing NYCN leadership, applauding them for laying a strong foundation upon which future efforts can be built. He pledged to build upon their successes by advancing a strategic 8-point agenda aimed at transforming the youth landscape in the state.

Key components of his agenda include:

  • Strengthening collaboration with the Kogi State Government to enhance youth inclusion in governance,
  • Promoting unity among youths from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds,
  • Remodelling the Kogi Youth House into an ultra-modern center to serve as a hub for youth engagement,
  • Establishing a Youth Development Trust Fund,
  • Fostering human capital development and entrepreneurship,
  • Supporting creative talents in arts, media, and innovation,
  • Implementing robust campaigns against drug abuse and social vices.

A seasoned youth mobilizer with a track record of service across various youth platforms in the state, Enesi reiterated his readiness to align with the national mandate of the NYCN, which has been a beacon of youth development and national unity since its inception in 1964.

He commended stakeholders of Kogi NYCN including past Chairmen, Coordinators and their executives for sustaining the “Aluta Spirit” of the council, assuring that if elected, he would ensure that the he taps from their wealth of experience in fronting the affairs of Kogi state youths.

“This is our moment. I urge all Kogi youths to unite behind a shared vision for a stronger, more inclusive future,” he said in a rallying call.
