Comr. Osiakor Becomes Acting Kogi NYCN Chairman
…as suspended chairman face 7 man panel over misappropriation, maladministration.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State has on Tuesday sworn in Comrade. Sunday Osiakor as it’s acting chairman pending the conclusion of investigation and submission of report by a 7-man panel on allegations of maladministration, high handed, misappropriation leveled against Suspended Chairman of the Council, Amb. Usman Ogohi Samuel.
The decision of the Council was contained in a communiqué reached at the management meeting at the youth house which was described imperative owing to the recent happenings affecting the youths both in the state and in the country at large.
The suspended Chairman was asked to hand over all documents and properties of the council to the Secretary or the Chairman in the next 3 working days while the committee that would embark on the investigation was sworn in and commissioned to undertake the task.
Other pertinent issues discussed in the meeting was the effect of the Fuel subsidy removal which the Council described as timely and necessary, but the situation has compounded the hardship of the people hence they urged the Kogi State Government to urgently put in places mechanisms to take care of the hardships caused by the subsidy removal looking critically in the area of providing subsidized and effective transportation system within Lokoja township, surburbs and other satellite towns in the state.
The Council Similarly announced the adoption and endorsement of the candidature of Alh. Usman Ododo Ahmed and Hon. Joel Salifu Oyibo while it urged all organs of the council from the State, LGA, Ward and Polling Unit to immediately start mobilizing, campaigning and canvass votes for the delivery of the candidature of Alh. Usman Ododo Ahmed and Hon. Joel Salifu Oyibo to emerge winners in the November 11 polls.
