The historical significance of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, stems from its location at the meeting point of Nigeria’s two major rivers, the Niger and Benue. Over the years, Lokoja has encountered several developmental obstacles despite its rich historical legacy. Among the urgent problems are a lack of basic infrastructure, bad governance, growing unemployment, and deteriorating social services. Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has emerged as a ray of hope as the populace searches for a transformative leader to take the helm. He may provide the much-needed relief and visionary leadership to Lokoja Local Government Area (LGA).

Like many other LGAs in Nigeria, Lokoja LGA is beset by the negative effects of incompetent leadership and governance.
