Daratola Supportive Foundation, Kogi First Lady Set to Mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Daratola Supportive Foundation has concluded arrangement to celebrate the 2025 International Day of Persons with disabilities.
The 3rd of every December, across the world has been earmarked as the international Day of Persons with Disabilities.
As part of activities to mark the day in Lokoja, on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 by 10:00am, the Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, wife to the Kogi State Governor, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the celebration that would be held at the Daratola Children Home, behind former AEDC Regional Office, Tunde Ogbeha Road, GRA, Lokoja, Kogi State.
The theme for the 2025 celebration is ‘Fostering Disability Inclusive Societies For Advancing Social Progres”. Dr. Mrs. P.F. Medupin is expected to make the lead Presentation.
The Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, will at the event be presented with a Special Merit Award. For her outstanding contributions to the support for persons who disabilities.
According to a statement issued by Mrs Olaleye Toyin, Executive Director Daratola Supportive Foundation, the 2025 Celebration is geared towards raising awareness for the need for support PWDs.
The 2025 International Day For Persons with Disabilities, is jointly organized by Daratola Supportive Foundation, in conjunction and supported by the office of the First Lady, office of the Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly; Ministry Of Women Affairs, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency Lokoja.
Highlights of the celebration will include Facilities Inspection by Guest ad well as goodwill message by Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo, Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic and Chief Mallam Momoh Dauda, GM, KGCSDA amongst others.
