Defection: Fanwo Welcomes Sunday Kayagba To APC In Mopamuro

Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has expressed delight in the increasing number of opposition party leaders joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reacting to the defection of a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader in Takete Ide-Otafun Ward, Mr. Samuel Sunday Kayagba, Fanwo acknowledged the opposition party leader’s political influence in the area over the years.

He assured Kayagba of equal stake in the ruling party as the state leader, Governor Yahaya Bello, does not relegate new comers in the party but views them as important as old members.

“It is with utmost joy and fulfilment that I welcome my friend, brother and political bulldozer, Mr Samuel Sunday Kayagba to the All Progressives Congress. 

“Over the years, Mr Kayagba was a thorn in the flesh of the APC as he was committed to his party and always worked hard for the PDP. But today, I am glad to receive him into our great party. 

“On behalf of His Excellency Alh Yahaya Bello, our State Party Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello; our Governorship Candidate, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo, all our party leaders in the State, Local Government and Ward level, I welcome Mr Kayagba to the Progressive fold.

“As directed by our State Leader, Governor Yahaya Bello in line with the tradition of our party; there is no newcomer in our party. You have the same rights and privileges as soon as you join the party. 

“As we celebrate your joining our party, we look forward to working with you to make Mopamuro LGA the fortress of our party. 

“Having delivered in all elections with the highlight being our victory in all the 10 Wards of the Local Government in the recently conducted House of Assembly election, our dream is to wax stronger and swell up the ranks of our party,” he said.

Fanwo called on “the few people remaining in the PDP and other parties to summon the courage to join the moving train”, stressing that “Ododo is the Kogi Agenda for the continued progress and development of our dear state.”

Kayagba joined PDP in 2000 and hs served in various capacities in his Takeke Ide/Otafun Ward in Mopamuro local government area of Kogi State.

He resigned his membership of PDP on Wednesday.
