Dekina LGA Chairman Presents #12bn Budget to Legislators »

The Executive Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon (Chief ) Ikani John Urah , on Wednesday, presented a proposed budget estimate of N12, 037,397,190bn to the council legislatures for consideration and approval.

Hon John Urah , while presenting the budget, tagged, “Budget of RENEWED HOPE,” said the budget will critically focus on improving on the living standard of our people with emphasis on social development, infrastructure, youths and women empowerment.

He said, “Out of the budget, recurrent cost gulped N8,131,437,500bn, while capital expenditure is at N3,905,959,690bn

The Chairman assured the citizens that his administration would continue to accord priority to their welfare.

The Council Leader, Hon (Mrs.) MONICA FELIX, promised the legislators’ commitment to working closely with the chairman for the successful implementation of the 2026 budget.

“We pledge to conduct thorough oversight of all government arms in order to guarantee transparency, accountability and responsible allocation of resources.

“Let me assure you that we will set the ball rolling immediately to ensure swift passage of the appropriation bill.

“This, as usual, will translate to prompt implementation and execution of policies, as well as timely completion of all projects in the coming year,” she said.

Hon John Urah use the occasion to reassure residents of the local government area on his commitment to neutralize men of evil and criminals in all areas within the local government.

He urges the good people of Dekina LGA to join hands with his administration as it is desirous to making our local government an envy amongst the local governments in Nigeria.

“Let me pay glowing tribute to the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his outstanding achievements that have impacted on the well-being of the people of bringing his vision for local government administration a reality as we will ensure that his dreams and vision as encapsulated in his Renewed New Direction is realized.

He commended the governor for his unwavering commitment and consistent support to strengthen the local government security architecture in order to stamp out criminality and banditry in our dear Dekina LGA.
