Dekina Local Government Chairman Condemns Agojeju-Odo Killings, Urges Immediate Action to Address Root Cause
The Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area in Kogi State, Hon. John Urah Ikani, , has strongly condemned the recent violence that led to death of several people in the Agojeju-Odo community in Omala Local Government Area.
In a press statement released earlier today, Urah expressed his profound grief and outrage over the senseless loss of lives in Agojeju-Odo. He described the killings as barbaric and unacceptable, emphasizing the need for immediate action to address the root causes of the violence.
“The recent killings in Agojeju-Odo is a tragic and condemnable act of violence that shouldn’t be waved aside. “We cannot allow such heinous acts to undermine peace and security. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, and I offer my deepest condolences during this difficult time,” he noted.
Hon. Urah called on the relevant security agencies to swiftly investigate the incidents and bring the perpetrators to justice. He also urged community leaders and residents to remain calm and vigilant, while emphasizing the importance of fostering unity and cooperation to combat insecurity.
He ppraised the Kogi State government, national assembly members for immediately swinging into action to ensure that normalcy returns to the are.
The Chairman pledged the commitment of the local government to collaborate with its neighboring local government area and all stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in the area.
