Democracy Day: Kogi Youths Pledge Support for President Tinubu’s Administration, Programmes »

As Youth’s commisioner urge them to promote peace, demand good governance.

Youths in Kogi state have re-affirmed their support for what they described as the timely leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stressing that although his policies has led to current hardship, they were optimistic that the outcome would result into massive gains for the nation and its people.

The youths gave this affirmation during a specially held event in commemoration of the June 12 democracy day event at the Glass House of the Government House in Lokoja where they also reeled out some of the programmes of President Bola Ahmed’s Renewed Hope Agenda which have touched and impacted directly on the youth demography.

Speaking at the event, the state’s commissioner for Youth and sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe while urging the youths to promote peace, demand good governance noted that the event was intended to celebrate the tremendous achievements President Tinubu’s administrations and the consolidation of Gov. Ododo in the state.

He noted that under the leadership of the President, the country has witnessed significant progress in infrastructural development including the expansion of major highways, modernization of rail networks, and enhancement of airports.

According to him, President Tinubu administration’s efforts to boost economic growth, feasible projections for reduction of the country’s unemployment rate, and promotion of social justice, are laudable adding that all these and many more achieved in a period slightly above a year in office.

He pointed out further that In Kogi State, the youth were proud of the achievements of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who has worked tirelessly to consolidate the achievements of his predecessor to develop our state and improve the lives of our people.

He said “His administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, water resources management, security, and youth empowerment have been remarkable. The construction of roads, provisions of medical supplies and consumables, and the rehabilitation of public health facilities across the state, are just a few examples of his achievements”.

Hon. Anyebe also promised the determination and commitment of Kogi youths to continue to rally support for Gov. Ododo and Pres. Tinubu’s programmes and policies for the development of the nation.

The Kogi Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo in his goodwill message further reiterated the continued support of Kogi state government under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to the policies, programmes and initiatives of the President Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

While commemorating the Democracy Day event the Commissioner said that this year’s celebration was special because in the history of the nation, this was the first time an activist and a democrat is at the helms of affairs as President. He mentioned that President Tinubu was among those who fought relentlessly for the realization the nation’s democracy from the military.

He urged that other States should emulate the template of Kogi State under the leadership of Gov.Ahmed Usman Ododo and show support, full solidarity with Mr President.

The Commissioner urged Nigerians to be patient with the Renewed Hope government stressing that the Nigeria’s economy was in shambles and in comatose when President Tinubu took over the mantle of leadership, while stating that the President’s reforms had started yielding positive results.

Hon. Fanwo added “We now have a President who has come to change the narratives, a man that understands good governance and therefore he deserves our unflinching support.

Earlier in his opening remarks, Oladele John-Nihi, the Special Adviser to Kogi Governor on Youths and Students Matters, commended President Tinubu for taking remarkable steps to strengthen democracy and improve the lives of Nigerians.

He mentioned that Kogi state have witnessed the positive impacts of President Tinubu’s leadership, his support has been instrumental to the state governor’s achievements including the successful rescue of kidnapped Kogi students and various infrastructural development and empowerment programmes for youths and students of Kogi State, among others.
