Today, as our nation marks June 12 Democracy Day, we remember and celebrate the unyielding spirit of Nigerians who stood firm in the defense of democracy, justice, and the right to choose their leaders.

June 12 is not just a date, it is a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and the collective yearning of our people for a nation built on fairness, freedom, and accountability. It serves as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to safeguard the democratic values that form the foundation of our republic.

As Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, I believe that the youth are not only the heartbeat of our democracy but also its future. In Kogi State, under the focused leadership of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, we are investing in our young people, empowering them through sports, skills development, leadership opportunities, and civic engagement, so they can contribute meaningfully to the growth of our dear state and country.
