Dr. Elukpo Meets Bassa LGA APC Executives, Declares Interest in Assembly Seat

Dr. Jeremiah Wanciko Elukpo has met with the executive members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bassa Local Government Area, led by the LGA Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Abdulmumin, to formally declare his intention to contest the Bassa Constituency seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly.

During the meeting, Dr. Elukpo described the visit as strategic, noting that the pursuit of a House of Assembly seat requires engagement beyond the ward level to the entire local government structure. He emphasized the importance of consulting the LGA executives as key stakeholders in the party’s grassroots framework.

He formally announced his intention to contest in the 2027 elections, calling for stronger grassroots mobilization, sustained party unity, and purposeful, people-oriented representation. Dr. Elukpo urged party leaders and members to close ranks and strengthen the APC from the local government level to the wards and polling units in order to secure victory in the forthcoming elections.

In their response, the Bassa LGA APC executives warmly welcomed his declaration, describing it as a positive and timely development for the party. They expressed confidence in his aspiration, noting that a committed and vibrant young aspirant like Dr. Elukpo would add value to the party and the people of Bassa LGA.
The executives also reaffirmed their commitment to party cohesion, internal democracy, and progressive leadership aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to the grassroots and the state at large.

Dr. Elukpo, in his closing remarks, appreciated the LGA leadership, which included representatives from the three districts, for their confidence and willingness to work for the success of the party.
