Dr Kashim Akor organizes an entrepreneurial training for youths in Ankpa L.G.A. of Kogi State

Dr kashim Akor, Director-General of the National Productivity Centre (NPC) has organized an entrepreneurial training specially for youths of Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The training, focused on teaching the youths how to make products such as Vaseline Cream, Dettol, Car Wash, Liquid Soap, Insecticide, Body Jelly, Shampoo, and all other cosmetology, with participants drawn from the thirteen (13) wards across Ankpa Local Government Area. The training was held at the prestigious GloryLand Institute of Management Studies, Ankpa, Kogi State.

The chief hostess of the programme, and Proprietress of the Institute during the flag off ceremony, expressed her great joy over the development for Ankpa youths. She further described entrepreneurship as ‘a process of making individuals explore their potentials, initiatives and creativity for greatness which will in turn build their self-confidence in order to become self-reliant and survive in the race of life.’

Hajia Vivian Idama used the occasion to advise all the participants to make judicious use of the rare opportunity given to them by the Director General, National. Productivity Centre, Abuja, Dr Kashim Akor.

She also used the medium to thank His Excellency, president Muhammadu Buhari for finding Dr Kashim Akor worthy to pilot the affairs of the National Productivity Centre She thanked the chairman of Ankpa local government council, Hon. Abagwu Ibrahim for creating a crime-free environment for all to go about their normal businesses in the area.

The chairman of Ankpa local government council, Hon. Abagwu Ibrahim who was ably represented by the council Secretary, Hon. Ray Idris Akus thanked the chief organizer of the programme, Dr Kashim Akor for this initiative and many others he had accomplished forward the growth and development of Ankpa.

He also stressed the importance of building the entrepreneurial skills of the youths to combat unemployment and criminality associated with Joblessness

In his words, ‘entrepreneur can change life meaningfully, the communities and nation in general.’ So, he urged them to think on what they can do with the opportunity so that they can help the society, in return.

In the speech of Dr Kashim Akor, Director General, National Productivity Centre, presented by his represntative, Miss Aladi Achimugwu at the two-day entrepreneurship training, Dr Akor said the training was designed to equip the youths with skills that will make them job creators rather than job.

  1. His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulmalik Umar, the Onu of Ankpa.
  2. Sheikh Salman Adams, Chief Imam of Ankpa Local Government Council and chairman, Kogi State council of Ulamau.
  3. Hon. Abagwu Ibrahim, Ankpa local government council chairman, ably represented by the council secretary, Hon. Ray Idris Akus.
  4. Hon. Ibrahim Yahaya, chief of staff to the Executive chairman of Ankpa local government council.
  5. Hon leader and Councillors of the 7th Ankpa legislative council
