Dr Ottah salutes Kogi govt, people on Easter Celebration
The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Education, Science and Technology, Dr Gabriel Ottah has felicitated the state government and people on the occasion of 2020 Easter Celebration.
A press statement signed by Dr Ottah and made available to the media said Easter which is in commemoration of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is a period that practically demonstrates ultimate sacrifice.
According to the statement in which he praised Governor Yahaya Bello for creating the enabling environment for religious harmony for citizens to express their religious freedom, Easter is also a period many Christian faithful sacrifice themselves, their passions and their indulgences to commit themselves to prayers and meditations for the growth of the church and the society at large.
Dr Ottah maintained that the significance of the suffering and death of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary should guide the life of every true believer, and urged all the faithful in the state to rededicate themselves to service to humanity and rebuilding of their faith in Jesus Chris whose promise of total salvation endures forever.
“There are, indeed, many lessons for all of humanity to learn from Easter, including the lesson of unquantifiable love which signifies that the human spirit can rise to lofty heights, if propelled by the power of love.
“Christians, according to the Holy Bible, are called to love their neigbbours as much as they love themselves. Jesus Christ demonstrated this ineffable love by submitting himself as a sacrifice for mankind. If the Christian faithful and the adherents of all religions in the country imbibe this message, most of the problems plaguing our personal and national lives would not be there,” the statement stressed.
