Education: Gov Ododo Approves Construction of Hostel Accommodation for NKFI »

….as institution prepares for OYESA, expanding operations

Kogi state governor in a very recent update has approved the construction of a 200 bed-space hostel facility for the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute which according to the approval would be executed through a public private partnership engagement.

This was made known in a press statement signed by the Rector, who hinted that the institution was on the path towards expanding its operations and attracting interested students from within and outside the state who are willing to live on campus.

He added that one of the strongest impediment to the institution operating at a maximum capacity is the non availability of accommodation for students on campus noting that governor’s approval for the building of a hostel accommodation was a timely solution and a boaster to the potential of the institution.

Dr. Williams asserted that with the intending commencement of the recently unveiled Ododo Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme (OYESA), the hostel accommodation would also foster government’s plan to ensure that those eventually selected for the program gets maximum learning experience.

While the Rector expressed candid appreciation to the governor for the approval of such a long awaited project he expressed that the governor’s interest in the institution is a staunch display of his disposition towards the development of young people into independent and skilled solution provider to the society rather than being unemployed and pushed into restiveness and other vices.

He said governor Ododo is following the footprint of his predeccesor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello meticulously and diligently, noting that the immediate past governor invested significantly in the advancement of the institution leading to some of the giants strides achieved. Dr. Williams pointed out that Gov. Ododo was taking these strides greater steps further.

The Rector similarly thanked the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones asserting that under his supervision, Education in all ramifications have witnessed an entire turn around positively. He stressed that Hon. Wemi’s administrative prowess and leadership acumen is second to none and his impact on the growth of NKFI is immeasurable.
